Corner Lab

Your car, the corner, and what it's doing there — the setup changes worth trying, in order.

The lap

The lapFlat and medium-speed, with a long straight bracketed by slow corners at both ends. Traction is the currency here: two of the three sectors end with a slow exit onto something long.
Set up forTraction out of the hairpin and the final corners, then kerb compliance through the technical sections.
Classic mistakeChasing mid-corner speed. The circuit is flat and medium-paced, and the lap is won on two slow exits onto two long straights.

Every corner on this layout

A marks the corners that decide the lap.

T1 Turn One

Fast right

Taken quickly off the main straight, and it sets up everything that follows.

Technique
Barely slow it. The car needs to be settled rather than slow, and the exit feeds the whole first sector.
Demands
High speed — aero is live · Wants a settled rear · Turn-in transient

T2–4 The Triple

Medium · three linked corners

Three corners that behave as one, with no time for the car to settle between them.

Technique
Drive the last of the three. Getting the first two right and the last one wrong loses more than the reverse.
Demands
Transient, not steady-state · Sustained mid-corner load · Front grip limited

T6 The Hairpin

Slow · hairpin

Tight and slow, feeding the long back straight — the most valuable exit on the lap.

Technique
Give up as much entry as you need to. Everything you gain here is multiplied by the straight.
Demands
Braking-limited · Low speed — aero does little · Wants yaw on entry · Traction-limited · Exit-phase limited

T8–10 Back Complex

Medium · technical

A busy section after the back straight where rhythm matters more than commitment.

Technique
Use the kerbs and keep the car flat. Nothing here rewards attacking it.
Demands
Transient, not steady-state · Kerbs are part of the line · Sustained mid-corner load

T12–14 Final Corners

Slow · onto the straight

A slow sequence that decides your speed down the longest straight on the circuit.

Technique
Patient with the throttle until the wheel unwinds. Wheelspin here is paid for the whole way down the straight.
Demands
Exit-phase limited · Traction-limited · Rear grip limited · Low speed — aero does little

Corner names and numbering follow common usage; some circuits number differently between layouts.
