Corner Lab

Your car, the corner, and what it's doing there — the setup changes worth trying, in order.

The lap

The lapThe lowest-downforce weekend of the season. Kerb behaviour is the whole setup: chicanes are taken by riding kerbs hard, and the car still has to be stable at 300 km/h.
Set up forLowest wing on the calendar, longest gearing, and a car that rides chicane kerbs without being launched.
Classic mistakeStiffening the car to feel stable in Curva Grande and Parabolica, then getting fired into the air at the Roggia kerbs.

Corner by corner

Every corner on this layout

A marks the corners that decide the lap.

T1–2 Variante del Rettifilo

Biggest stop of the season

Braking from maximum speed into a tight chicane. Lock-up city, and the kerbs are unforgiving.

Technique
Bleed pressure as the downforce leaves. Ride the kerb, don't attack it.
Demands
Braking-limited · Kerbs are part of the line · Low speed — aero does little

T3 Curva Grande

Very fast right

Long and quick, taken near-flat with the car loaded for a sustained period.

Technique
Hold it and stay off the kerb on exit — you need to be straight for the Roggia braking.
Demands
High speed — aero is live · Wants a settled rear · Aero platform sensitive

T4–5 Variante della Roggia

Chicane · severe kerbs

A quick left-right that has to be taken over big kerbs, and the car has to land flat.

Technique
This is a fast-damping corner. If you're being launched, that's the knob.
Demands
Kerbs are part of the line · Bumpy surface · Braking-limited

T6 Lesmo 1

Medium-fast right

Blind, tightening, and it punishes an optimistic entry.

Technique
Slightly sacrifice this one — Lesmo 2's exit is worth much more.
Demands
Sustained mid-corner load · Front grip limited · Braking-limited

T7 Lesmo 2

Medium-fast right · onto Serraglio

Feeds the long run under the old banking toward Ascari. A high-value exit.

Technique
Late apex, get straight, get on the power. Patience pays.
Demands
Sustained mid-corner load · Traction-limited · Exit-phase limited · Rear grip limited

T8–10 Variante Ascari

Fast three-part chicane

Fast, three-part and completely unforgiving of a car that won't take kerb.

Technique
Rhythm, not aggression. Get the first element right and the rest follows.
Demands
Kerbs are part of the line · High speed — aero is live · Aero platform sensitive · Wants a settled rear

T11 Parabolica

Long opening right

Long and opening, feeding the main straight. The most valuable exit on the lap.

Technique
Late apex and get the power down as it opens. Patience pays here too.
Demands
Sustained mid-corner load · Traction-limited · Exit-phase limited · Rear grip limited

Corner names and numbering follow common usage; some circuits number differently between layouts.
